CHANGES TO SEEFELD 2014
Approved by IML Board 27th September 2013 A large, new event centre has been adapted in Leutasch for the event to be held there. The event, of course, remains nonetheless in the Olympiaregion Seefeld since the region consists of 5 villages, including the hikers’ paradise Leutasch.
Distance to the new event area is approx. 8 km and can be reached by car in 10 minutes. As usual, Seefeld Tourism Association will be acting as event host and the organisation team, consisting of tourism association members, will likewise remain unchanged. Therefore, in effect, the only change to the event is the start and finish area.
50 percent of the new hiking routes have already been used in previous IML events, only the direction of walking and route connections have been altered in part. The short routes, above all, will be totally new for the hikers. The characteristics of the hiking area remain the same as before, with just a few new sections being added offering walkers a welcome change as they explore our huge hiking area.
IML Walkers are reminded that to qualify for an award they must participate in every day of the event and complete the IML march/walk. Some events will have distances less than 20KM per day these are not IML events for persons under the age of 70 (see Constitution). For example a Four Day event all four days must be walked, a three day event all three days and a two day event 2 days to achieve the IML award.
IML Walkers are also reminded that when claiming awards the IML passport, complete with Photograph must be personally presented to the IML Awards desk in order that the details can be verified. Passports presented by persons other than the owner will be rejected. It would also be helpful before the event to inform the event organiser which award will be required. This is particularly appropriate when taking part in a new IML event.
New awards for walkers with more than 75 series (225 walks)
A participant entitled to these awards must inform the organizer in advance of taking part and is responsible for the purchase of the award from the organizer.
On completion of the 225th walk (75 series of Three) the walker is entitled to a new medal with 1 star
For the 300th walk, same medal with 2 stars
For the 375th walk, same medal with 3 star and the third star surrounded by a laurel
For the 450th walk, same medal with 1 crown

For the 600th walk, same medal with 3 crowns and the third crown surrounded by a laurel
The numbering of the series will be continued in the normal manner ( eg 228th Walk 76 Series – Numeral No 1 can be purchased.
Criteria to become a Global Master Walker

Procedure: The walker has to present his IML passports "in person" and ALL passports have to be complete. (Name, address and picture of the walker in all passports) No exceptions will be tolerated. Example in the current situation: We have now 27 IML members divided between 17 in the European Region and 10 in the Pan Pacific Region. A "Global Walker" is someone who has done: 75 % of the European IML walks is 12: 10 different walks have to be done in the European Region. 75 % of the Pan Pacific IML walks: is 8 different Pan Pacific walks.
