In order to receive more feedback from

online, it will help us to improve the quality of our organisation.

IML successfull Events;
The walk in Blankenberge- Belgium this year was a huge success. A
new record was reach with no less than 10.329 walkers. The cap of 10.000 walkers was hereby exceeded for the first in the 40 year’s history of this walking event.
The weather was good, the organization was perfect and the walkers have enjoyed every moment of it.

1. At the General
Meeting of IML, a cooperation agreement was
signed between IML and IVV.
Part of the agreement
enables an IML walker participating in the “IVV Olympiade” from 14 till 17 May 2009 to
receive an IML stamp and a bar on completion of the walk in
accordance with IML rules.
2. The General Meeting agreed that
IML will apply for membership of “TAFISA” - An international
sport for all organization. (website www.tafisa.net)
3. Bern (Belpe) in
Switzerland was confirmed by the General Meeting as a founder member
of IML. This means that a walker has to complete the 8 founding
member walks to become an “International Master Walker”.
4. IML event
organisers are required to improve administration by stricter control
of the award system.
Participating IML
Walkers should be aware that:
- an IML stamp may be
refused by the organiser if the IML passport does not contain the
walkers photograph and proof of identity confirmed by an official
document.
- Official IML stamps
are for use in IML passport only. IML Stamps are NOT to be used on
any other documents.
5. There was no decision agreed about
distance awards for children and elderly walkers. This item is
postponed for further discussion at the next General Meeting.
6.
It was agreed at the General Meeting that it is now possible to
replace a lost or damaged IML passport by providing required proof to
the Secretary General.
Other IML products such
as medals, bars, etc... can be replaced if proof of participation at
that walking event is provided.
Administrative expenses
will be charged.
7. Candidacy for membership of IML for the
“Kyushu International Three Day Walk”
(A second walk in
Japan) was accepted.
It will be judged from 8 till 10 May, 2009 by Mr. Deryck Shaw
(Vice-President of IML, responsible for the Pan Pacific Region) and by
Mr Dirk De Boever (Secretary-Genrel of the IML)
