International Walker Proclamation.

Walking is:
  • A simple and basic human exercise
  • An activity that can be enjoyed by everyone who can walk, able or disabled.
  • An activity that is good for body and mind of the individual.
  • An activity that brings people together on national and international levels and contributes to mutual understanding in this way.
  • An activity that brings people in harmony with nature and helps improve understanding that natural resources are scarce and the environment should be well guarded and respected.

We then declare:
  • Walking should be promoted as a regular exercise.
  • Greater importance should be given to promote walking and walking events not
only at individual and local level but also at national & international levels.
  • Today's way of life being more dependent on the technology of modern civilization,
walking should be promoted as the most important lifestyle activity of the 21st century.
